DocPanel user guide
1. First access
When you open DocPanel for the first time, example categories and links are loaded. These are only demo examples and can be changed or removed.
2. Add a table
Use Add table to create a new category. You can choose the display type, number of columns and number of rows.
3. Add or edit links
Inside each table, use + Link or an empty slot to add a link. You can choose automatic favicon display or a custom text icon.
4. Move links with drag & drop
You can drag a link from one table to another, or reorder links inside the same table. Changes are saved automatically in your browser. Drag & drop is disabled while local search is active, to avoid confusing filtered results.
5. Search your links
The local search bar filters links by name, URL or category. This search happens only in your browser.
6. Import bookmarks
Export bookmarks from your browser as an HTML file, then use Import bookmarks. Folders become DocPanel categories. The file is read locally and is not uploaded to the server.
7. Export and import JSON
Use Export JSON regularly as a backup. Use Import JSON to restore your dashboard.
8. Reset examples
Reset examples restores the default demo dashboard and removes current local changes.
9. Data storage
DocPanel stores configuration in your browser local storage. Clearing browser data can remove your dashboard, so keep a JSON backup.
When moving a link with the mouse, DocPanel shows a “Drop here” marker so the link can be placed more precisely in the desired position inside the table.
